DAP 500 Introduction to Data Processing
3 credit beginner course
This class is the basic introduction class to computers. As a teacher I presume
all my students know only 2 things when beginning this class. That you know you're
sitting in a chair, and you have a table, with a bunch of things on it, in front of you.
On day one I assume you think a mouse is a rodent with beady eyes and a long tail.
From there we begin and by semester's end the student is able to do multi-media
documents, has a fundamental understanding of the web and site construction, do
spreadsheet claculations using functions and to graphically represent that data, create
and maintain a database and to withdraw useful information in a readable and presentable
manner.
